Phillip R. Dowdy, Jr., M.D. attended Barry University School of Graduate Medical Science, Miami Shores, FL. He completed his residency at Henry Ford Health Systems/Wyandotte Hospital, Wyandotte, MI and his fellowship at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and Jewish Hospital, Louisville, KY.

In order to provide the best possible care, please remember to bring
your insurance card and a list of any medication that you are currently
taking to your appointment.

Insurance and Payment Information
We accept most insurance plans including Medicare. Co-payments are
required at the time of your visit. If you are a self paying patient,
payment is expected in full at the time of service. We accept cash,
checks, VISA, MasterCard and Discover.
For uninsured patients, there is a $25 charge due the day of service and the patient is required to call MedAssist at (606) 833-2104
to apply for Medicaid benefits before being seen at the office in the
future. If the patient does not qualify for Medicaid, the patient will
have the opportunity to discuss arrangements for payment or other
financial assistance with the business office.
Emergencies
If you have an emergency, the OLBH Emergency Department operates 24
hours a day. If your situation is not emergent, but is urgent and cannot
wait for an appointment, OLBH also provides urgent care conveniently
located at:

Prescriptions Refills
Patients are responsible for monitoring prescription refills. Please make the physician and nurse aware of the need for refills at the time of your visit. If you are not scheduled for an appointment but need a prescription refill, please call the office during business hours and leave a message for your nurse. We request 48 hours to process refill requests.
Please remember that in certain situations appropriate medical care requires the benefit of a patient examination before a prescription can be filled.
