Osteopathic Intern & Resident Training Program - Mission Statement
The mission of the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital Intern and Resident Training Program is to select and train people who will provide quality health care in rural areas.
The training is specifically designed to prepare interns and residents for the unique demands of a rural practice. The presence of the program at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital offers a unique opportunity to educate a variety of health professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment and in collaboration with MSOPTI and other community programs. Quality training can best be provided in an atmosphere that supports the professional and personal development of all participants.
Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital Intern and Resident Training Program is part of a rural health care initiative mandated by the state legislature of Kentucky to offer innovative solutions to the many health care problems facing Appalachia by blending the academic and service missions of the hospital and local health care organizations and professionals.
The training program is a dynamic program dedicated to education excellence in a rural community setting. It prepares osteopathic practitioners for careers in medicine not only in a rural setting, but in suburban and urban settings as well.
