OLBH Number One in Kentucky for General Surgery
A report from HealthGrades, the nation’s leading independent healthcare ratings organization, named OLBH number one in Kentucky for general surgery and the best hospital in the region for general surgery for 2012.
OLBH also was ranked among the top five in Kentucky for the hospital’s gastroenterology (GI) services for the fourth straight year (2009-2012). OLBH has been five-star rated for GI procedures and surgeries for the last four years. The recognitions are based on HealthGrades’ fourteenth annual Healthcare Consumerism and Hospital Quality in America study, which analyzes patient outcomes at virtually all of the nation’s hospitals.
“To be ranked number one in Kentucky for general surgery and in the top five for GI speaks volumes about the quality of our physicians and staff,” Kevin Halter, OLBH CEO, said. “Quality is of utmost importance and to consistently rank among the best of the best in the state and around the nation demonstrates OLBH is a quality leader. I would like to thank our hard working staff and excellent physicians who provide such exceptional care and service to our patients.”
“Patients today have a wide array options when it comes to choosing a healthcare provider,” said Kerry Hicks, HealthGrades chief executive officer. “At HealthGrades, we are proud to have led the way for empowering patient choice based on objective clinical outcomes and access to actionable quality measures. We commend Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for its superior quality and support of consumerism and transparency in the Ashland area.” The new 2012 HealthGrades hospital ratings are posted at www.healthgrades.com.
