Maintenance Team Members Receive Certification
Three members of the OLBH maintenance team have been certified by the Kentucky Society of Healthcare Engineers as certified technicians as the result of the team members completing training requirements to earn this distinction.
The members who have earned their certification are Randy Williams, Charles Blevins and Jeff Damron. Williams resides in Raceland, Blevins in Raceland, and Damron in Argillite. All three recently completed training and passed the certification exam to receive diplomas as certified technicians. Continuing education requirements must be met in order to maintain certification.
Certified technicians are educated in the many critical aspects that are unique to working in healthcare facilities including familiarity with issues affecting patient safety and privacy, infection control and risk assessment. According to the Kentucky Society of Healthcare Engineers, soon it will be required for all technicians wishing to work in a Kentucky hospital to be certified.
