OLBH Honored at Thoroughbred Awards Ceremony
The OLBH Marketing and Communications Department has received four honors from the Kentucky Society for Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing (KSHPRM). The honors for marketing and public relations projects were presented at the society’s recent Thoroughbred Awards ceremony in Louisville.
Hospitals from across the state of Kentucky submit entries for consideration and judging in the annual Thoroughbred competition. OLBH was awarded four certificates of merit. The categories and honored entries were:
• Cooperative Partnerships- Awarded for Ashland HeartChase, a community event that saw OLBH collaborating with the American Heart Association to raise funds and bring awareness to the problem of heart disease.
• External Publication- Awarded for the hospital’s Good Help magazine.
• Total Campaign Advertising- Awarded for campaign concerning OLBH being named number one in Kentucky for general surgery.
• Writing- Awarded for the Good Help magazine article “Back in the Saddle” which chronicled the journey of a farmer who underwent successful double hip replacement.
The OLBH Marketing and Communication Department members are Angela Wells-Coburn, OLBH Marketing and Communications director, Kevin Compton, communications and advocacy specialist and Lori Rambo, CareLine coordinator.
The Thoroughbred Awards competition is designed to recognize healthcare public relations and marketing professionals who, in calendar year 2012, achieved excellence in projects ranging from publications and multimedia programs to advertising and fund raising.
