Scottish Rite Foundation Provide Funding for Children’s Speech Rehab
The Covington Scottish Rite Foundation has entered into an agreement with OLBH to provide funding for speech therapy to children ages three to five. The agreement is for up to $24,000 in support for one year, with the possibility of an annual renewal of the agreement.
The monies received from The Covington Scottish Rite Foundation will provide for speech services at OLBH’s Pediatric Rehabilitation office in Greenup. The Covington Scottish Rite Foundation is a nonprofit organization that serves children with speech disorders and provides speech therapy to children ages three through five in northeast Kentucky with exceptions being made for certain children who are ages five to seven.
“Speech and language disorders are one of the most significant developmental childhood problems in Kentucky,” Chuck Charles, OLBH Foundation vice president, said. “With this support of OLBH, the Covington Scottish Rite Foundation has made a commitment to helping children overcome childhood speech and language disorders.”
The funding will be provided for those children who do not qualify for federal/state assistance and whose family income levels are above federally determined poverty lines but who have no health insurance or have unaffordable co-pays.
