If you have a form of arthritis or a related condition, your physician may recommend that you begin an exercise program to help improve joint flexibility and decrease pain.
The OLBH Human Motion Vitality Center offers arthritis sufferers a
setting for improved physical well being and social interaction with
others experiencing similar conditions. The center, which features a
warm water pool, presents arthritis aquatics classes approved by the
National Arthritis Foundation.
Water exercise is especially good for people with arthritis, because it
allows individuals to exercise without putting excess strain on joints
and muscles. The Human Motion Vitality Center's arthritis aquatics
classes give participants the opportunity to do gentle activities with
guidance provided by a certified instructor.
Now is the perfect time to find an outlet to help alleviate some of the
daily pain and discomfort caused by arthritis. Participants should have
comfortable shoulder, elbow and knee motion and require no more than
minimal assistance when entering and exiting the pool. A physician
referral is necessary. The cost is $25 per month.
