Bellefonte Heart Care specializes in the treatment of acute and coronary syndromes, acute myocardial infarctions, non-ST elevation myocardial infarctions, chronic chest pain, coronary artery disease, arrhythmia and congestive heart failure.

Michele Friday, M.D., FACC, the Ashland area’s only female interventional cardiologist established Bellefonte Heart Care. Friday is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and cardiology. She is board eligible in interventional cardiology. Friday is a graduate of St. George's University of Medicine in St. George's, Grenada, West Indies. She completed her internal medical residency at St. Michael's Medical Center/Seton Hall University, N.J. where she was elected chief resident. She completed a cardiology fellowship at St. Michael's and obtained a Guidant Scholarship for Interventional Cardiology Fellowship which she conducted at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.

Bellefonte Heart Care also offers the services of cardiologist Yogendra Prasad, M.D., FACC.  Prasad earned his medical degree at Darbhanga Medical College in India. He also earned a post-graduate degree from Sarojini Naidu Medical College including a residency at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. Prasad completed a residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, N.Y., where he was chief resident. He also completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y.  Prasad has an extensive cardiology background with experience in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac catheterization, congestive heart failure, and general cardiology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
