Autism
Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life. It impacts the normal maturing of the brain in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Children and adults with autism typically have difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or play activities.
The autism support group meets monthly at the hospital's Vitality Center. For more information or to be added to the mailing list, please call the CareLine at (606) 833-CARE (2273).
